Travel From Your Couch connects a traveler with a verified local guide, live.
The guide is out walking a real street, in real time — the traveler navigates, asks questions, and the guide answers and shows them around, with real-time translated subtitles. It's not a recording. It's not a playlist. It can be anywhere in the world — a street, a sports event, a concert, anything.

Streets have dead spots. Guides get tired. Museums charge for entry. Every one of those is a product decision we had to make, and here is how we made them.
One guide, one traveller. Nobody else is watching, and the guide is answering you, not a chat room.
Real-time streaming built on Agora, engineered for under five seconds of latency so that asking a question still makes sense.
Send a written request — a street, a market, a match day. The guide comes back with a cost estimate before anything is booked.
Sessions pause automatically on disconnect and resume when the signal returns. Lose more than 15% of a session to the guide's connection and you are refunded.

The app ships in three languages, and each guide profile lists the languages that guide actually speaks.
Automated identity verification at onboarding. A profile does not go live until the person behind it has passed it.
A museum ticket or a tram fare has to be requested in writing and approved by you in the app. Decline it and nothing is charged.
Every session is recorded and added to your library, ready to replay after it ends.

Filter guides by city, language, price, and who is online right now. Every profile carries a short intro video, so you know who you are getting before you pay anyone.
Take a 30- or 60-minute slot. Connect instantly if the guide is live, or schedule for later. Payment is taken up front, once.
A private one-to-one stream opens. Two-way audio, so you can ask questions, ask them to slow down, or ask them to point the camera at the thing you actually came for.
The session ends by itself when the time runs out. The recording lands in your library, and you can walk it again whenever you like.
Enough for one neighbourhood, one market, or one specific thing you have been meaning to look at properly.
Enough to walk somewhere, stop, change your mind and follow the guide down a street you did not plan on.
If you know a place well enough to answer an awkward question about it, you can guide on the platform with the phone already in your pocket.
Your share releases to your Stripe account 60 minutes after the session ends, once the dispute window closes
The built-in camera is enough. No rig, no studio, no crew.
Go online when you feel like working; your profile shows travellers that you are live.
Identity verification happens at onboarding, handled by Stripe, and then you are done with it.
Tickets and fares are requested in the app and approved by the traveller before anything is collected.
This procedure is obligatory before their profile is visible to anyone.
Payments and payouts run entirely through Stripe
One guide, one traveller, nobody else able to join.
Both people are told before a session starts.
Ninety days by default, then deleted automatically.
Accounts, sessions and recordings are stored in the European Union.
An administrator can remove an account that breaks the terms.
Not an automated ruling — our support team carefully reviews the case.
No. A person is standing in that street while you watch, with two-way audio. If you ask them to turn around, they turn around. The recording is a by-product you keep afterwards, not the product.
The session pauses automatically and the clock stops. It resumes once the signal is back. One interruption per session is allowed; if the connection is not restored within five minutes the session ends. If more than 15% of the session was lost to the guide's connection, you are refunded.
File a dispute in the app within 60 minutes of the session ending — that is the window before the guide's payout is released. Filing holds the payout, and a person on our team reviews the session record, the connection data, and both accounts before deciding.
It appears in your library a few minutes after the session ends and is kept for 90 days by default, then deleted automatically. Recordings are private to the two people in the session and may not be published.
iPhones on iOS 16 or newer, and Android phones on 8.0 or newer. There is no browser version — the product is built for the phone in the guide's hand and the phone in yours.
Not today. Sessions are strictly one-to-one, which is what makes the guide answerable to you rather than to an audience.
Most of it. We keep a fixed platform fee per session, shown in the app, which covers streaming, recording, payments, support, and dispute review. There are no ads and we do not sell data.
Through Stripe Identity. The guide submits identity documents and a selfie directly to Stripe, and we receive only the pass or fail result — we never hold their documents.
Travel From Your Couch is coming to the App Store and Google Play. Write to us and we will tell you the day it lands.
