We built Travel From Your Couch for everyone who has a place they want to see and a reason they cannot go.
There is no shortage of footage of Lisbon or Tokyo. There are millions of hours of it, shot beautifully, colour-graded, set to music. And none of it can tell you what is down the side street the camera walked past, because the person who filmed it left four years ago.
The thing missing from virtual travel was never resolution. It was someone to ask. A cost, a visa, a job, a body that does not travel easily, or someone at home who needs looking after — the reasons people cannot go are real and mostly not solvable. Being able to ask a question of a person standing there, and have them turn the camera, is solvable.
So that is the whole product. One guide, one traveller, live, for half an hour or an hour. Everything else in the app exists to make that half hour work: the payments, the verification, the pause when a street loses signal, the recording you keep afterwards.
A pre-recorded tour is cheaper for us to run and worse for you. If the guide cannot respond, it is television.
The moment a second viewer joins, the guide starts performing to a room instead of answering you. We do not offer group sessions.

Most of every session fee goes to the guide. We take a fixed platform fee and nothing else — no ads, no data sold, no upsells hidden in the flow.
Extra costs during a session (a ticket, a fare) must be requested in writing and approved by the traveller before they are collected.
